Microchipping

It is scary when a family member goes missing. Whether through storms, fireworks, or even plain bad luck, a pet might wander away from its family and home. Microchipping helps circumvent some of the stress when looking for your pet.

How Do We Microchip?

By a simple injection, you can increase the chances of being reunited with your pet should they become lost. At Penn South Pet Clinic, our veterinarian or one of our skilled technicians will insert the microchip, no bigger than a grain of rice, underneath the skin. The procedure takes no longer than a routine vaccination, and can be done at any time.

Benefits of Microchipping

While collars and tags are certainly beneficial and should not be ignored, a microchip stays in place and cannot be torn or removed the same way a collar or harness might. Lasting the life of your furry friend, microchips have a serial number that is set for your pet and yours alone, and with shelters and clinics alike able to scan for chips, it is one of the easiest ways to reunite a lost pet with their family.

At Penn South Pet Clinic, your pet’s safety and your peace of mind are of upmost priority to us. Call today and schedule a microchip appointment today!
